Security is one the most concerning issues in Hanoi to tourists when it comes into nightlife or even during the daytime. Be careful with pickpockets or thieves because they will make your trip awful. Although there are particular police stations and police patrol around these mentioned attractions, be aware of these criminals around in crowded places or even in dark streets.
Here are some tips to be secure:
Be aware of the hectic traffic in Hanoi with so many motorbikes: be careful to cross the street with your hands waving to show signal to the motorbikes to give ways for you, they will not stop but they will change their directions to be away from you. Ask local people there, they will tell you to cross the street at a steady even pace and do not hesitate, you will be a pro!
Be cautious of the street food stalls that are not hygienic. You can see how crowded these stalls are. If so many tourists and local people are buying food at these shops or stalls, it means they are well-known and safe enough to try. Be careful with the allergic food.
